Narrative:
Let me preface by saying that at the time of this occurrence we had been on duty for over 10 hours and had been flying for over 8 hours. The local time was YY55 pm. We were being vectored for the mill visual at pdx after coming from seattle. I was fairly unfamiliar with the area, but the captain indicated he knew the procedure and proceeded to point out the required landmarks. The heading we were assigned forced me to make a left turn to stay north of the mill. When we turned back right to begin the approach, the lights at portland troutdale increased in intensity and the captain indicated we were high. I mistook troutdale for pdx. I began a descent for troutdale, but due to the navaids, both the captain and I quickly realized the error and initiated and executed a missed approach. In the process we descended to approximately 1500 ft. We then were vectored back for an ILS runway 28R approach and landed uneventfully.

Title: ACR MLG MAKES A VISUAL NIGHT APCH TO PDX AND GETS INTO TTD ARPT'S CLASS D AIRSPACE ON THE DSCNT. PF, THE FO, MISTOOK FOR A MOMENT TTD FOR PDX. MISSED APCH MADE WITH AN ILS APCH BEING MADE TO RWY 28R.
Narrative: LET ME PREFACE BY SAYING THAT AT THE TIME OF THIS OCCURRENCE WE HAD BEEN ON DUTY FOR OVER 10 HRS AND HAD BEEN FLYING FOR OVER 8 HRS. THE LCL TIME WAS YY55 PM. WE WERE BEING VECTORED FOR THE MILL VISUAL AT PDX AFTER COMING FROM SEATTLE. I WAS FAIRLY UNFAMILIAR WITH THE AREA, BUT THE CAPT INDICATED HE KNEW THE PROC AND PROCEEDED TO POINT OUT THE REQUIRED LANDMARKS. THE HDG WE WERE ASSIGNED FORCED ME TO MAKE A L TURN TO STAY N OF THE MILL. WHEN WE TURNED BACK R TO BEGIN THE APCH, THE LIGHTS AT PORTLAND TROUTDALE INCREASED IN INTENSITY AND THE CAPT INDICATED WE WERE HIGH. I MISTOOK TROUTDALE FOR PDX. I BEGAN A DSCNT FOR TROUTDALE, BUT DUE TO THE NAVAIDS, BOTH THE CAPT AND I QUICKLY REALIZED THE ERROR AND INITIATED AND EXECUTED A MISSED APCH. IN THE PROCESS WE DSNDED TO APPROX 1500 FT. WE THEN WERE VECTORED BACK FOR AN ILS RWY 28R APCH AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY.
