Narrative:
Arriving aus, visual approach runway 31L, ATIS winds were 3 KTS. First officer's landing, stable approach. After 30 ft callout, we developed a greater sink rate due to approximately 10 KT airspeed loss. First officer and I both pulled the yoke back slightly and first officer added a little power to arrest sink rate. It didn't appear we would land very hard so we didn't go around, but we did touch down firmly. Vertical speed wasn't noted. Airplane didn't bounce. As we taxied in the flags at the terminal were standing nearly straight out. Only 2 or 3 passenger mentioned anything as they deplaned -- mostly in a joking manner. #1 flight attendant mentioned nothing about injuries or complaints. #4 flight attendant said several passenger would probably write it up. I said let them write it up for there wasn't much we could have done. Upon arrival at dfw about 1 hour later, 2 flight attendant mgrs and dfw chief pilot were waiting. I found out then that #4 flight attendant had called in aus to report slight back pain and #2 flight attendant felt something in her neck.

Title: MD80S ACFT DEVELOPED HIGH SINK RATE ON SHORT FINAL, RPTR FO TRIED TO COMPENSATE WITH PWR AND ATTITUDE BUT STILL HIT HARD. FLT ATTENDANTS COMPLAINED OF INJURY.
Narrative: ARRIVING AUS, VISUAL APCH RWY 31L, ATIS WINDS WERE 3 KTS. FO'S LNDG, STABLE APCH. AFTER 30 FT CALLOUT, WE DEVELOPED A GREATER SINK RATE DUE TO APPROX 10 KT AIRSPD LOSS. FO AND I BOTH PULLED THE YOKE BACK SLIGHTLY AND FO ADDED A LITTLE PWR TO ARREST SINK RATE. IT DIDN'T APPEAR WE WOULD LAND VERY HARD SO WE DIDN'T GO AROUND, BUT WE DID TOUCH DOWN FIRMLY. VERT SPD WASN'T NOTED. AIRPLANE DIDN'T BOUNCE. AS WE TAXIED IN THE FLAGS AT THE TERMINAL WERE STANDING NEARLY STRAIGHT OUT. ONLY 2 OR 3 PAX MENTIONED ANYTHING AS THEY DEPLANED -- MOSTLY IN A JOKING MANNER. #1 FLT ATTENDANT MENTIONED NOTHING ABOUT INJURIES OR COMPLAINTS. #4 FLT ATTENDANT SAID SEVERAL PAX WOULD PROBABLY WRITE IT UP. I SAID LET THEM WRITE IT UP FOR THERE WASN'T MUCH WE COULD HAVE DONE. UPON ARR AT DFW ABOUT 1 HR LATER, 2 FLT ATTENDANT MGRS AND DFW CHIEF PLT WERE WAITING. I FOUND OUT THEN THAT #4 FLT ATTENDANT HAD CALLED IN AUS TO RPT SLIGHT BACK PAIN AND #2 FLT ATTENDANT FELT SOMETHING IN HER NECK.
