Narrative:
At cruise during flight between sea and phx, ATC advised us that we were not flying the flight planned route. We concurred and were given a vector to reo VOR, which would put us back on routing. We were tracking on J5 towards lkv at the time whereas we should have been on J523. J5 is our common route to lax. No other explanation. Distracted possibly by giving PA and complacency of our normal routing to southern california.
