Narrative:
Deviation for volcano. Pbc approach/tower cleared flight abcd for VOR/DME runway 17. WX clear, winds calm. Flight plan reports volcanic ash in area from volcano popo located 40 mi southwest of puebla with prevailing winds from southwest. We flew course reversal, procedure turn and approach while using captain's emergency authority/authorized to remain safe from volcano popo as possible.
