Narrative:

We were holding short of runway 23R at ind. Both my copilot and my self-heard ind tower controller clear our flight into position and hold on runway 23R. My copilot acknowledged 'air carrier XXX cleared position and hold runway 23R.' after visually checking to see there was no landing traffic, I taxied into position on runway 23R. Shortly after setting the parking brake in position on runway 23R, ind tower said he had actually cleared a company flight dxxx into position and hold on runway 23L. We were asked to taxi clear of runway 23R and await further clearance. There was no further discussion with ind except to confirm that we had read back a clearance to taxi into position on runway 23R. A possible correction would be to always advise crews when similar call signs are in use on the same frequency. There was no conflict.

Title: AN ACR TWIN JET TAXIES INTO POS AND HOLD AFTER TAKING THE CLRNC FOR ANOTHER COMPANY FLT WITH A SIMILAR SOUNDING FLT NUMBER.

Narrative: WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 23R AT IND. BOTH MY COPLT AND MY SELF-HEARD IND TWR CTLR CLR OUR FLT INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 23R. MY COPLT ACKNOWLEDGED 'ACR XXX CLRED POS AND HOLD RWY 23R.' AFTER VISUALLY CHKING TO SEE THERE WAS NO LNDG TFC, I TAXIED INTO POS ON RWY 23R. SHORTLY AFTER SETTING THE PARKING BRAKE IN POS ON RWY 23R, IND TWR SAID HE HAD ACTUALLY CLRED A COMPANY FLT DXXX INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 23L. WE WERE ASKED TO TAXI CLR OF RWY 23R AND AWAIT FURTHER CLRNC. THERE WAS NO FURTHER DISCUSSION WITH IND EXCEPT TO CONFIRM THAT WE HAD READ BACK A CLRNC TO TAXI INTO POS ON RWY 23R. A POSSIBLE CORRECTION WOULD BE TO ALWAYS ADVISE CREWS WHEN SIMILAR CALL SIGNS ARE IN USE ON THE SAME FREQ. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT.
