Narrative:
On takeoff roll at 100 KTS, captain and I heard a loud thump under cockpit. We assumed it was the nosewheel 'bottoming out' after hitting a bump on runway. This is fairly common on MD88's. Flight continued uneventfully. Landed at ags and taxied in. On postflt, I noticed nothing unusual. Poorly lit ramp, 500 ft climb, 3 mi visibility. We later found out that part of the nosewheel spray deflector was found on runway in atl. Also, a gash was found on belly of airplane. I don't know size or location of gash. Other factors: last of 3 legs on 11 hour 18 min duty day.
