Narrative:
There were no NOTAMS listed there regarding the VFR corridor. I departed and flew through the VFR corridor at the usually permitted altitude of 900 ft. I tuned the self-announce frequency specified on the new york terminal area chart. I announced my position as usual, several times during the passage. I also heard an aircraft entering the VFR corridor behind me, apparently proceeding as I was. Then, I heard a voice come on the frequency and address another aircraft behind me. The voice stated that the corridor was closed by NOTAM due to an open-air demonstration. After the flight, I reexamined the NOTAMS. There was an fdc-NOTAM saying temporary flight restrs were in effect for the VFR corridor. The incident was my fault because I failed to read the fdc.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A LIGHT ACFT PLT ENTERED THE HUDSON RIVER VFR CORRIDOR THAT WAS NOTAMED CLOSED FOR TEMPORARY FLT RESTRS.
Narrative: THERE WERE NO NOTAMS LISTED THERE REGARDING THE VFR CORRIDOR. I DEPARTED AND FLEW THROUGH THE VFR CORRIDOR AT THE USUALLY PERMITTED ALT OF 900 FT. I TUNED THE SELF-ANNOUNCE FREQ SPECIFIED ON THE NEW YORK TERMINAL AREA CHART. I ANNOUNCED MY POS AS USUAL, SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE PASSAGE. I ALSO HEARD AN ACFT ENTERING THE VFR CORRIDOR BEHIND ME, APPARENTLY PROCEEDING AS I WAS. THEN, I HEARD A VOICE COME ON THE FREQ AND ADDRESS ANOTHER ACFT BEHIND ME. THE VOICE STATED THAT THE CORRIDOR WAS CLOSED BY NOTAM DUE TO AN OPEN-AIR DEMONSTRATION. AFTER THE FLT, I REEXAMINED THE NOTAMS. THERE WAS AN FDC-NOTAM SAYING TEMPORARY FLT RESTRS WERE IN EFFECT FOR THE VFR CORRIDOR. THE INCIDENT WAS MY FAULT BECAUSE I FAILED TO READ THE FDC.
