Narrative:
Clearing runway 9R, taxied to cross runway 12/30. Once clear on taxiway V, the old centerline lighting was visible and clearly displayed. The captain followed the guidance to taxiway P which caused the aircraft's right main gear to contact 1 temporary taxi light when proceeding to the gate. The area north of the southern edge of taxiway P from taxiway south to taxiway V is under construction. However, taxi is still allowed on taxiway P to gates x-ag through x-bb. Incident was discovered later that night by maintenance personnel. Taxiing in seemed normal, and did not feel the aircraft run over the temporary taxi light. Supplemental information from acn 451447: cleared to taxi to gate/ramp via taxiway Y after landing on runway 9R at mia. The green taxiway lights were illuminated. Turning right from taxiway Y onto the ramp, the green lights led me directly into construction on taxiway P. I made an immediate left turn but contacted a temporary edge light with the right main gear. The taxiway Y lights were visible because tape that had been put over the lights burned off.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B767 HIT A TEMPORARY TXWY LIGHT AT MIA.
Narrative: CLRING RWY 9R, TAXIED TO CROSS RWY 12/30. ONCE CLR ON TXWY V, THE OLD CTRLINE LIGHTING WAS VISIBLE AND CLRLY DISPLAYED. THE CAPT FOLLOWED THE GUIDANCE TO TXWY P WHICH CAUSED THE ACFT'S R MAIN GEAR TO CONTACT 1 TEMPORARY TAXI LIGHT WHEN PROCEEDING TO THE GATE. THE AREA N OF THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF TXWY P FROM TXWY S TO TXWY V IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. HOWEVER, TAXI IS STILL ALLOWED ON TXWY P TO GATES X-AG THROUGH X-BB. INCIDENT WAS DISCOVERED LATER THAT NIGHT BY MAINT PERSONNEL. TAXIING IN SEEMED NORMAL, AND DID NOT FEEL THE ACFT RUN OVER THE TEMPORARY TAXI LIGHT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 451447: CLRED TO TAXI TO GATE/RAMP VIA TXWY Y AFTER LNDG ON RWY 9R AT MIA. THE GREEN TXWY LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. TURNING R FROM TXWY Y ONTO THE RAMP, THE GREEN LIGHTS LED ME DIRECTLY INTO CONSTRUCTION ON TXWY P. I MADE AN IMMEDIATE L TURN BUT CONTACTED A TEMPORARY EDGE LIGHT WITH THE R MAIN GEAR. THE TXWY Y LIGHTS WERE VISIBLE BECAUSE TAPE THAT HAD BEEN PUT OVER THE LIGHTS BURNED OFF.
