Narrative:
It was toward the end of a long day. At my company we pick up our pre-departure clrncs from 1 printer for all flts. What I did wrong was that I picked up the pre departure clearance for the previous flight for my destination. I failed to check for the proper flight number. On climb out the tower notified us to check our transponder code. The tower then gave us the correct code and the flight continued normally. This has happened several times to other pilots at the iah hub. The other bases do not have this problem. I believe iah has problems because of the WX room design. At our cle hub there are slots where we pull our WX packets from. Also this is where we get our pre departure clearance's. However, in iah we pull our pre departure clearance's off the printer. Also, the WX room has another pre departure clearance printer behind the glass dividers where operations people put the pre departure clearance's in a pile. So now I have a pile of pre departure clearance's and another printer with a pile of pre departure clearance's. The pre departure clearance's are printed on each printer. So there are a lot of old unused pre departure clearance's laying around. This makes it very easy to pick up the wrong one.

Title: E120 CREW GOT THE WRONG PDC 'PRE-DEP CLRNC' FROM THE COMPANY PRINTER IN THE TERMINAL AT IAH.
Narrative: IT WAS TOWARD THE END OF A LONG DAY. AT MY COMPANY WE PICK UP OUR PRE-DEP CLRNCS FROM 1 PRINTER FOR ALL FLTS. WHAT I DID WRONG WAS THAT I PICKED UP THE PDC FOR THE PREVIOUS FLT FOR MY DEST. I FAILED TO CHK FOR THE PROPER FLT NUMBER. ON CLBOUT THE TWR NOTIFIED US TO CHK OUR XPONDER CODE. THE TWR THEN GAVE US THE CORRECT CODE AND THE FLT CONTINUED NORMALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES TO OTHER PLTS AT THE IAH HUB. THE OTHER BASES DO NOT HAVE THIS PROB. I BELIEVE IAH HAS PROBS BECAUSE OF THE WX ROOM DESIGN. AT OUR CLE HUB THERE ARE SLOTS WHERE WE PULL OUR WX PACKETS FROM. ALSO THIS IS WHERE WE GET OUR PDC'S. HOWEVER, IN IAH WE PULL OUR PDC'S OFF THE PRINTER. ALSO, THE WX ROOM HAS ANOTHER PDC PRINTER BEHIND THE GLASS DIVIDERS WHERE OPS PEOPLE PUT THE PDC'S IN A PILE. SO NOW I HAVE A PILE OF PDC'S AND ANOTHER PRINTER WITH A PILE OF PDC'S. THE PDC'S ARE PRINTED ON EACH PRINTER. SO THERE ARE A LOT OF OLD UNUSED PDC'S LAYING AROUND. THIS MAKES IT VERY EASY TO PICK UP THE WRONG ONE.
