Narrative:

Problem arose when crew scheduling made a mistake on doubling my time off to allow me to fly over 8 hours in a 24 hour period. The break in duty was not long enough. I ended up with 8 hours 28 mins in a 24 hour period. Upon reaching hub with 8 hours 28 mins on us and again bringing it to crew scheduling's attention, they still assigned my crew hot stand-by duty for 4 more hours (needed 16 hours off). After being released for rest and being given a wkend release only 6 hours later, I was called and told I had to take a trip 20 hours later. Problem being I was not given 16 hours off after flying over 8 hours without an intervening rest period of proper length, and then being assigned more duty. Also, when I was released into rest, I was called only 6 hours later to be assigned more duty. The only corrective action I know is to have our poi come down on the company for not following the FARS. In the long run, this will cause safety of flight concerns from crews being fatigued.
