Narrative:

During the interior inspection on aircraft XXXX on may/xa/02, I noticed 3 missing emergency light aisle lens covers. I performed the required test and found all the emergency lights to be functioning in a normal manner. I reviewed the B767 MEL book and noticed that the current MEL's listed were for non functioning system. Since this was not the case on my aircraft, I proceeded to call ZZZ technician for further evaluation. I was then given a pre departure clearance reference to defer these items. Please not that these lens covers did not have 'exit' printed on them.
