Narrative:
Prior to departing W29 on a local flight, I reviewed a NOTAM issued on march/thur/2003. The NOTAM, referenced the airspace. Changes around washington dc and contained the perimeters of the recently imposed ADIZ. The previous restricted airspace around dc had been predicated on 2 DME of the dca VORTAC. I inadvertently assumed that the ADIZ boundary was predicated on the 30 DME arc of the same notamed area. It was never my intention to enter the ADIZ. It was outside of the notamed area. It was never my intention to enter the ADIZ. Prior to the NOTAM, W29 was not in class B airspace at 33.9 DME. The ambiguity lies in the NOTAM narrative, predicated on 30 DME from dca VORTAC. After landing W29 on a 1200 transponder code, I was identified within the ADIZ without an assigned squawk code. On this particular weekend there were over 35 incidents of the same nature due to the lack of clarity of the NOTAM in the dca area.
