Narrative:
I found a 1 1/2 inch crack in the l-hand aft fuselage skin. The crack ends were idented by ndt inspection. The crack was stop-drilled and dispatched after notifying maintenance control, per typical repair 53-60-06. The skin around the crack required a reinspection each flight leg. A deferred maintenance form was filled out and faxed to work load planning by the lead technician on duty. All of this information was entered in the aircraft logbook and entered in the computer database. I found out 5 days later from an in-house quality assurance investigator that a reinspection was missed in ZZZ1. (Reinspection was accomplished the previous leg in ZZZ2.) apparently, I am at fault for the missed inspection because I did not call workload planning per our maintenance policy manual. I thought the call to maintenance control was sufficient to satisfy the requirements.

Title: A B737-300 WAS DISPATCHED WITH A FUSELAGE SKIN CRACK DEFERRED ITEM THAT REQUIRED INSPECTION EACH FLT LEG. INSPECTION MISSED ON 1 FLT LEG.
Narrative: I FOUND A 1 1/2 INCH CRACK IN THE L-HAND AFT FUSELAGE SKIN. THE CRACK ENDS WERE IDENTED BY NDT INSPECTION. THE CRACK WAS STOP-DRILLED AND DISPATCHED AFTER NOTIFYING MAINT CTL, PER TYPICAL REPAIR 53-60-06. THE SKIN AROUND THE CRACK REQUIRED A REINSPECTION EACH FLT LEG. A DEFERRED MAINT FORM WAS FILLED OUT AND FAXED TO WORK LOAD PLANNING BY THE LEAD TECHNICIAN ON DUTY. ALL OF THIS INFO WAS ENTERED IN THE ACFT LOGBOOK AND ENTERED IN THE COMPUTER DATABASE. I FOUND OUT 5 DAYS LATER FROM AN IN-HOUSE QUALITY ASSURANCE INVESTIGATOR THAT A REINSPECTION WAS MISSED IN ZZZ1. (REINSPECTION WAS ACCOMPLISHED THE PREVIOUS LEG IN ZZZ2.) APPARENTLY, I AM AT FAULT FOR THE MISSED INSPECTION BECAUSE I DID NOT CALL WORKLOAD PLANNING PER OUR MAINT POLICY MANUAL. I THOUGHT THE CALL TO MAINT CTL WAS SUFFICIENT TO SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS.
