Narrative:

Departing sps at 4000 ft, heading 120 degrees, ATC gave us a climb clearance to 7000 ft. At that time, we received a TCASII TA of an aircraft at 10 O'clock and approximately 5 mi at 3800 ft. Target aircraft was in a slight climb. Seconds later, we received a descend RA. At this point, I had the aircraft in sight and it appeared to be slightly above us and heading directly at us. I disengaged the autoplt and initiated a descent. We then received a corrective RA to increase descent which I complied with. Target aircraft, a T38, passed over the right front windshield approximately 200-300 ft from us. We were at 3500 ft at this point. First officer advised ATC that we had responded to an RA and then climbed to 7000 ft after clear of conflict.

Title: FLT CREW OF SF3 RESPOND TO TCASII RA AND NARROWLY AVERT AN NMAC.

Narrative: DEPARTING SPS AT 4000 FT, HDG 120 DEGS, ATC GAVE US A CLB CLRNC TO 7000 FT. AT THAT TIME, WE RECEIVED A TCASII TA OF AN ACFT AT 10 O'CLOCK AND APPROX 5 MI AT 3800 FT. TARGET ACFT WAS IN A SLIGHT CLB. SECONDS LATER, WE RECEIVED A DSND RA. AT THIS POINT, I HAD THE ACFT IN SIGHT AND IT APPEARED TO BE SLIGHTLY ABOVE US AND HEADING DIRECTLY AT US. I DISENGAGED THE AUTOPLT AND INITIATED A DSCNT. WE THEN RECEIVED A CORRECTIVE RA TO INCREASE DSCNT WHICH I COMPLIED WITH. TARGET ACFT, A T38, PASSED OVER THE R FRONT WINDSHIELD APPROX 200-300 FT FROM US. WE WERE AT 3500 FT AT THIS POINT. FO ADVISED ATC THAT WE HAD RESPONDED TO AN RA AND THEN CLBED TO 7000 FT AFTER CLR OF CONFLICT.
