Narrative:

On gate arrival, the forward cargo ground crew unlatched door of our B767 while the engines were running. This action set off an aural warning in the cockpit accompanied with EICAS cargo door message. Both engines were immediately shut down, no damage or injury resulted. My perception is that the ground crew was attempting to 'block us in to make us on time.' they did not realize that international flts are not subject to such reporting. No matter what the logic or reason the ramp used, I knew this was a dangerous practice and expressed this to the ramp lead.
