Narrative:
We asked for taxi from FBO at det. My first officer was flying this ferry leg. We were given taxi to runway 33. We taxied and held short of the apparent runway but tower informed us that we were over the hold short line. We didn't have room to turn so the tower gave us position and hold. We departed shortly. Before we departed; I apologized to the tower and I was told it happens frequently. If this is the case why isn't something done about the markings to make the hold short position more visible?

Title: A DA2000 PLT RPTS AFTER XING DET RWY 33 HOLD SHORT LINE; LCL CTLR TELLS HIM OF HIS TRANSGRESSION BUT ALSO SAYS THAT EVENT FREQUENTLY OCCURS.
Narrative: WE ASKED FOR TAXI FROM FBO AT DET. MY FO WAS FLYING THIS FERRY LEG. WE WERE GIVEN TAXI TO RWY 33. WE TAXIED AND HELD SHORT OF THE APPARENT RWY BUT TWR INFORMED US THAT WE WERE OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE. WE DIDN'T HAVE ROOM TO TURN SO THE TWR GAVE US POS AND HOLD. WE DEPARTED SHORTLY. BEFORE WE DEPARTED; I APOLOGIZED TO THE TWR AND I WAS TOLD IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY. IF THIS IS THE CASE WHY ISN'T SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THE MARKINGS TO MAKE THE HOLD SHORT POS MORE VISIBLE?
