Narrative:
Cleared to land by tower on runway 4R at midway airport. Executed go around over threshold because of prior landing traffic still on runway (pilot initiated go around). Simultaneously with our go around, a light single engine small aircraft was making a right turn out (approximately mid field) following a takeoff from runway 4L. At approximately 100 to 150' AGL we had to make an immediate hard left turn to pass behind this aircraft. The only thing that kept this from being a mid air collision was that we had the small aircraft visually. Had this occurred IMC, we would have hit the small aircraft.

Title: CLOSE PROX ACR MLG GA SMA OVER MDW ARPT. MLG ON GO AROUND FROM RWY 4R SMA MAKING RIGHT TURN AFTER TKOF FROM RWY 4L.
Narrative: CLRED TO LAND BY TWR ON RWY 4R AT MIDWAY ARPT. EXECUTED GO AROUND OVER THRESHOLD BECAUSE OF PRIOR LNDG TFC STILL ON RWY (PLT INITIATED GO AROUND). SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH OUR GO AROUND, A LIGHT SINGLE ENG SMA WAS MAKING A R TURN OUT (APPROX MID FIELD) FOLLOWING A TKOF FROM RWY 4L. AT APPROX 100 TO 150' AGL WE HAD TO MAKE AN IMMEDIATE HARD L TURN TO PASS BEHIND THIS ACFT. THE ONLY THING THAT KEPT THIS FROM BEING A MID AIR COLLISION WAS THAT WE HAD THE SMA VISUALLY. HAD THIS OCCURRED IMC, WE WOULD HAVE HIT THE SMA.
