Narrative:

I was working local assist during a very complex moderately busy session. There were many west end repositioning aircraft that ground was suffering through including arrivals that did not have gates available for a long time; some up to an hour. This created a complex operation getting departures out in between staggered arrivals. Meanwhile; ground was struggling with getting aircraft in and out of the general aviation ramp. There was also a lot of flow in effect for fixes northeast of the bay area; as well as crash fire rescue equipment(call for release) for [multiple airports]. There were numerous aircraft that were crossed over runways 1 to take their delay on taxiway lima.local control departed aircraft X off of on the SID; and shortly after aircraft Y; also on the same SID; off of an intersecting runway from a taxiway. All of this coordinated; and masterfully worked based on the picket fence finals we had been receiving for quite some time. There had also been another taxiway departure preceding aircraft Y; so it was not a one surprise departure going into the TRACON sector. The departure controller turned aircraft X west for an unidentifiable reason; and they ended up paralleling; and losing separation with; aircraft Y; unless of course they had the foresight to get aircraft X to see aircraft Y; which would have been a very high skilled controller maneuver.TRACON does nothing but complain about how we run our straight out departures versus turning sids to the point of looking like petulant children on the playground who are not able to be satisfied period. This highlights the complete and utter disrespect for not only a straight out departure being scanned off; but also not protecting for the unexpected missed approach/go around; that would require another really high skilled maneuver by the local controller to see the need for visual separation prior to shipping them to departures.
