Narrative:

While rolling out after landing at greer, sc, on runway 21 the tower ordered us to hold short of the parallel taxiway. I missed the transmission but the first officer acknowledged it. I exited runway at 'C' high speed taxiway and was at a moderate taxi speed when the first officer got on the brakes and said hold short of the parallel. When I saw the small transport coming up just behind my left shoulder I then put on maximum emergency braking to keep short of parallel taxiway and not hit the small transport. We had 45 passengers shook up and a F/a thrown around but not hurt. I was flying a medium large transport at the time of the near miss. Due to the high speed turn off being so close to the parallel the tower should consider holding conflicting traffic until we safely clear the parallel especially due to this particular traffic approaching my blind spot which is at an obtuse angle and in such a short clearing distance.

Title: MLG CAPT MISSED CLRNC TO HOLD SHORT OF PARALLEL TXWY. MAXIMUM BRAKING NEEDED TO AVOID ENTERING TXWY AND COLLISION.

Narrative: WHILE ROLLING OUT AFTER LNDG AT GREER, SC, ON RWY 21 THE TWR ORDERED US TO HOLD SHORT OF THE PARALLEL TXWY. I MISSED THE XMISSION BUT THE F/O ACKNOWLEDGED IT. I EXITED RWY AT 'C' HIGH SPD TXWY AND WAS AT A MODERATE TAXI SPD WHEN THE F/O GOT ON THE BRAKES AND SAID HOLD SHORT OF THE PARALLEL. WHEN I SAW THE SMT COMING UP JUST BEHIND MY L SHOULDER I THEN PUT ON MAX EMER BRAKING TO KEEP SHORT OF PARALLEL TXWY AND NOT HIT THE SMT. WE HAD 45 PAXS SHOOK UP AND A F/A THROWN AROUND BUT NOT HURT. I WAS FLYING A MLG AT THE TIME OF THE NEAR MISS. DUE TO THE HIGH SPD TURN OFF BEING SO CLOSE TO THE PARALLEL THE TWR SHOULD CONSIDER HOLDING CONFLICTING TFC UNTIL WE SAFELY CLR THE PARALLEL ESPECIALLY DUE TO THIS PARTICULAR TFC APCHING MY BLIND SPOT WHICH IS AT AN OBTUSE ANGLE AND IN SUCH A SHORT CLRING DISTANCE.
