While proceeding inbound on the 24R localizer and maintaining 10000', ATC advised us of traffic 10 O'clock, 9400' proceeding in a nne direction. Shortly afterward we were alerted on TCAS of a TA target followed by an RA corrective alert to descend, crossing descend. We descended approximately 800' before we received a clear of conflict and returned to originally assigned altitude. We never saw the other aircraft.
