Narrative:
The PAPI installed for runway 27 at san is very dim and difficult to see beyond 2-2 1/2 mi during the daylight hours. Since san localizer 27 has no GS, the PAPI should be visible at a greater distance. The old VASI of a few years ago was better.

Title: FO OF ACR MLG ACFT COMPLAINT OF RWY GLIDE PATH APCH LIGHTING WAS TOO DIM.
Narrative: THE PAPI INSTALLED FOR RWY 27 AT SAN IS VERY DIM AND DIFFICULT TO SEE BEYOND 2-2 1/2 MI DURING THE DAYLIGHT HRS. SINCE SAN LOC 27 HAS NO GS, THE PAPI SHOULD BE VISIBLE AT A GREATER DISTANCE. THE OLD VASI OF A FEW YEARS AGO WAS BETTER.
