Narrative:
I had taken off from runway 27 at cdw. There were several aircraft in the right 1200 ft pattern for runway 22. Climbing through 1500 ft after receiving takeoff clearance, an aircraft said he was avoiding traffic. An aircraft banked sharply in front of me and crossed left to right. The situation could have been prevented if cdw ATCT had made sure there was adequate separation between aircraft in the runway 22 pattern and aircraft taking off and climbing out off runway 27. It also would have been avoided if the traffic pattern altitude of 1200 ft was adhered to.

Narrative: I HAD TAKEN OFF FROM RWY 27 AT CDW. THERE WERE SEVERAL ACFT IN THE R 1200 FT PATTERN FOR RWY 22. CLBING THROUGH 1500 FT AFTER RECEIVING TKOF CLRNC, AN ACFT SAID HE WAS AVOIDING TFC. AN ACFT BANKED SHARPLY IN FRONT OF ME AND CROSSED L TO R. THE SIT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF CDW ATCT HAD MADE SURE THERE WAS ADEQUATE SEPARATION BTWN ACFT IN THE RWY 22 PATTERN AND ACFT TAKING OFF AND CLBING OUT OFF RWY 27. IT ALSO WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE TFC PATTERN ALT OF 1200 FT WAS ADHERED TO.
