Narrative:

A passenger smoked in the aft lavatory. I was putting carts away in the galley, when I smelled a burning smell/smoke. I sniffed around and at that time, the passenger emerged from the aft lavatory with smoke everywhere. She passed by me and after carefully examining the lavatory to make sure there was no fire, I followed the passenger up the aisle. I approached her and said, 'no smoking in the lav' in her language. This was the only interaction I had with the passenger. Only a csr met the plane, no auths. If we continue to allow smoking in the lavatory, it will continue to happen. Supplemental information from acn 476867: passenger boarded the plan very frustrated from the beginning and speaking quickly in a foreign language. I asked another passenger to help translate, because she was obviously very upset and wanted to ask some questions. The other passenger translated that ms X had a bad experience on her previous flight and many problems with her baggage. She then said ms X wanted to smoke a cigarette because she was so upset and she had no time between flts.

Title: CABIN ATTENDANT RPT, S80, MIA-DEN. NON ENGLISH SPEAKING PAX BOARDED UPSET WITH AIRLINE. SMOKED IN LAVATORY. CUSTOMER SVC SUPVR CALLED TO MEET FLT.

Narrative: A PAX SMOKED IN THE AFT LAVATORY. I WAS PUTTING CARTS AWAY IN THE GALLEY, WHEN I SMELLED A BURNING SMELL/SMOKE. I SNIFFED AROUND AND AT THAT TIME, THE PAX EMERGED FROM THE AFT LAVATORY WITH SMOKE EVERYWHERE. SHE PASSED BY ME AND AFTER CAREFULLY EXAMINING THE LAVATORY TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO FIRE, I FOLLOWED THE PAX UP THE AISLE. I APCHED HER AND SAID, 'NO SMOKING IN THE LAV' IN HER LANGUAGE. THIS WAS THE ONLY INTERACTION I HAD WITH THE PAX. ONLY A CSR MET THE PLANE, NO AUTHS. IF WE CONTINUE TO ALLOW SMOKING IN THE LAVATORY, IT WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 476867: PAX BOARDED THE PLAN VERY FRUSTRATED FROM THE BEGINNING AND SPEAKING QUICKLY IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE. I ASKED ANOTHER PAX TO HELP TRANSLATE, BECAUSE SHE WAS OBVIOUSLY VERY UPSET AND WANTED TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS. THE OTHER PAX TRANSLATED THAT MS X HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE ON HER PREVIOUS FLT AND MANY PROBS WITH HER BAGGAGE. SHE THEN SAID MS X WANTED TO SMOKE A CIGARETTE BECAUSE SHE WAS SO UPSET AND SHE HAD NO TIME BETWEEN FLTS.
