The PIC's front window shattered at FL290. We told center what had happened and that we needed to go down to 12000 ft. Center said it would be a few mins. I said, 'no, we are going down to 12000 ft now.' center asked if we could stop at FL240. I said, 'no, we needed to go down to 12000 ft now.' we had no further problems and landed at lit.

Title: A BE200 SUPER KING AIR PIC TAKES HER ACFT DOWN TO 12000 FT IN SPITE OF ATC'S OBJECTIONS WHEN THE PIC'S WINDOW FAILS AT FL290 75 MI FROM LIT, AR.
Narrative: THE PIC'S FRONT WINDOW SHATTERED AT FL290. WE TOLD CTR WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND THAT WE NEEDED TO GO DOWN TO 12000 FT. CTR SAID IT WOULD BE A FEW MINS. I SAID, 'NO, WE ARE GOING DOWN TO 12000 FT NOW.' CTR ASKED IF WE COULD STOP AT FL240. I SAID, 'NO, WE NEEDED TO GO DOWN TO 12000 FT NOW.' WE HAD NO FURTHER PROBS AND LANDED AT LIT.
