Narrative:
After signal from cockpit that it was no longer sterile cockpit, I began to proceed with normal duties as #1 flight attendant and the beverage preferences in first class. Got a quick sensation of slow-up, slow-down, as if a swaying motion forward then aft. I returned to galley, noticed galley power go off. Proceeded to cockpit. After a few seconds, the captain told me of the failed engine and we would be returning to mci. He advised passenger of our problem via intercom with less threatening verbiage. We did not prepare for emergency landing. Did our final preparations and landed without incident.
