Narrative:
On climb out just after passing through acceleration altitude (1500 ft AGL) we experienced a #2 engine failure. We completed the memory items and secured the engine. We then verified engine secure with the checklist card. The appropriate ATC calls were made and an emergency was declared. After referring to our company flight manual and completing all checklists, we returned to the airport and landed safely. After landing, we cleared the runway. At this time the tower asked if we would like to taxi to the gate. All of our hydraulic and brake system operations were normal. Upon this assessment, the captain chose to taxi to the gate with no further incidents.
