Aircraft #1 at FL190; aircraft #2 cleared to climb to FL180. New altitude option discussed with aircraft #2. Out of habit; I told aircraft #2 to maintain FL230; expect FL270. Situation was controled; traffic was known. Clearance inadvertently issued out of habit.
