Narrative:
I was the captain in the left seat of an light transport X, corporate jet. Instructions from ground control were to taxi onto runway 6 and hold short of runway 12L. Runway 12L threshold begins at the ese edge of runway 6, our regulation # is north(xabc). While holding short of runway 12L on runway 6 I looked to my left and saw an small transport Y lined up with our aircraft. My immediate thought was that he was going to land on the parallel taxiway we had just exited on the south side of runway 12L. As I feared he would be close to our tail, I began to add power to cross runway 12L threshold to be safely out of the aircraft's path. Simultaneously, the controller was calling 'north(cabc) taxi across runway 12L!!' I realized she meant 'north(xabc)' as I saw the small transport Y! Communication again is the problem here. Not just because of the tail # problem, but although we were holding short as instructed, if she had stated, 'landing traffic,' we may have seen the small transport Y sooner. We believe he must have been on a right base for the left runway. Continued vigilance, good radio procedures and listen up at busy airports are the keys.

Title: GND CTLR CLEARED LTT ONTO CROSS RWY TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12L. LCL CTLR HAD SMT ON FINAL FOR RWY 12L AND LTT WAS TOO CLOSE TO RWY, HAD TO BE TAXIED ACROSS.
Narrative: I WAS THE CAPT IN THE LEFT SEAT OF AN LTT X, CORPORATE JET. INSTRUCTIONS FROM GND CTL WERE TO TAXI ONTO RWY 6 AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12L. RWY 12L THRESHOLD BEGINS AT THE ESE EDGE OF RWY 6, OUR REG # IS N(XABC). WHILE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 12L ON RWY 6 I LOOKED TO MY LEFT AND SAW AN SMT Y LINED UP WITH OUR ACFT. MY IMMEDIATE THOUGHT WAS THAT HE WAS GOING TO LAND ON THE PARALLEL TXWY WE HAD JUST EXITED ON THE S SIDE OF RWY 12L. AS I FEARED HE WOULD BE CLOSE TO OUR TAIL, I BEGAN TO ADD PWR TO CROSS RWY 12L THRESHOLD TO BE SAFELY OUT OF THE ACFT'S PATH. SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE CTLR WAS CALLING 'N(CABC) TAXI ACROSS RWY 12L!!' I REALIZED SHE MEANT 'N(XABC)' AS I SAW THE SMT Y! COM AGAIN IS THE PROB HERE. NOT JUST BECAUSE OF THE TAIL # PROB, BUT ALTHOUGH WE WERE HOLDING SHORT AS INSTRUCTED, IF SHE HAD STATED, 'LNDG TFC,' WE MAY HAVE SEEN THE SMT Y SOONER. WE BELIEVE HE MUST HAVE BEEN ON A RIGHT BASE FOR THE LEFT RWY. CONTINUED VIGILANCE, GOOD RADIO PROCS AND LISTEN UP AT BUSY ARPTS ARE THE KEYS.
