Narrative:
On oct/xa/98 on flight going from miami to santo domingo, dominican republic, I was serving drinks from the aft end of a beverage cart on the r-hand side of an airbus 300. The beverage cart that flight attendant #4 and I were working from was at the beginning of zone C when passenger X attempted to pass by me and proceed up the aisle. Mr X had been roaming around the plane (both cabins) most of the flight, however, with both beverage carts now in the aisle, he was restr to the aft of the aircraft. I had heard the other flight attendants who had had contact with mr X say that he had been behaving strangely, and that the purser had even had words with him earlier in the flight. Therefore, when mr X wanted to pass by me in the aisle, I decided to give him plenty of space. With my back facing the passenger, I leaned forward into the aisle xx passenger seat, practically hugging it, so as to give this tall, large-boned man as much space as possible to proceed by me. I felt that mr X had placed his hands under my arms and on the sides of my breasts whereupon he squeezed. As an immediate reaction to being grabbed in this place, I slammed my arms down to my side, thereby catching the passenger's fingertips as he pulled his hands back to himself. I was very angry at being touched in this area, so I quickly turned around and cast a dirty look at the passenger. I didn't say anything as I did not want to make a scene or cause any kind of confrontation that would be harmful to myself or the passenger. I then took the water pitcher off of the beverage cart and hurried to the aft galley to fill it up and regain my composure. I did not realize it at first, but mr X had followed me to the aft galley. As I relayed my bad experience to flight attendants #2 and #3, I noticed that mr X stood at the edge of the galley staring in at me. I did not give him eye contact as I feared reprisal from someone who I believed to be potentially volatile. Mr X just stood glaring at me when flight attendant #4 finally asked him to take his seat. Eventually, mr xleft the galley area, presumably to return to seat yy where he had been seated. I was still disturbed by the inappropriate physical contact I had received, but knew that my primary responsibility was to my passenger, so I re-entered the aisle to continue the service. Flight attendant #4 asked me if I saw the way that mr X looked at me, and I told her that I would tell her later what had transpired. I was shaken by the incident, and had difficulties concentrating on my service, even remembering simple drink requests. I returned again to the aft galley to retrieve additional cans of soda. While deep in the airbus galley (which is approximately 10 ft deep and quite noisy due to chiller system and engine noise) I heard a deep male voice yelling. I peeked into the cabin and saw mr X's 6 ft 1 inch frame twring over flight attendant #3. His twisted, angered face was inches from flight attendant #3 as he wagged his finger and yelled. I could not make out the words he spoke as his speech was a bit garbled, but I did hear 'jesus christ' repeated several times. I watched the antics for a moment before determining that the safety of flight attendant #3 and surrounding passenger was at risk, then I immediately phoned the cockpit from the aft right interphone. I tried to relay the seriousness of this passenger's actions, mentioning that I had been inappropriately grabbed, and that I honestly thought flight attendant #3 would be struck. I stayed on the phone next to the exit door at 4R when mr X walked in front of me. He was muttering to himself, flailing his arms, and pacing in a horseshoe from aisle to aisle. He glared at me as he strode by, but again I refused eye contact. I did not want to agitate him further, or give him any indication that my phone conversation was about him. At one point, mr X stopped a few rows from the back in the r-hand aisle, and in an outburst began yelling something about 'jesus christ.' I was not close enough to decipher his loud mantra, but 'jesus christ' was easily discernible and repeated often. When mrxreturned to his seat, I had completed my phone conversation with the captain and resumed the service. Shortly thereafter first officer walked to the back of the cabin accompanied by another man whose identity I did not know. As first officer spoke to mr X, flight attendant #4 and I continued with the beverage service, trying to maintain normalcy. The other passenger in question ended up being mr Y, a security attache. He had heard the commotion and offered his services. After we landed, a PA announcement was made for all passenger to remain seated as some dominican security officials would be boarding the flight. Led by mr Y, several security officials made their way back to mr X's seat. They told him to get up and gather his belongings and then accompanied him up the aisle. Mr X was very calm initially, just swaying to the music from his walkman, but then he began again yelling to a captive audience of passenger that he was 'put on earth by jesus christ to destroy all homosexuals....' passenger clapped and catcalled as mr X was escorted off the flight. Supplemental information from acn 415933: flight attendant #3 and I (flight attendant #7) were finishing our meal service in the last few rows of the main cabin. I was attending passenger with beverage requests when I see passenger X start to get loud with my partner, flight attendant #3. I heard her say to 'please calm down' but it only agitated him more. He raised his voice more and more till he was at a yelling stage. His verbal assaults at flight attendant #3 started with 'she was a homosexual,' and he did not want her to serve him. She tried to keep order, and told him many times to be quiet and to calm down. He then got out of his seat and was pointing and yelling at flight attendant #3 that 'she was a demonic homosexual.' he stated that 'he belonged to the church of the righteous and his job on earth was to rid the world of all homosexuals.' he was inches from flight attendant #2, twring over her and still pointing and yelling at the top of his lungs. I feared for her safety as well as the safety of the passenger around him. I (flight attendant #7) then intervened to see if I could calm him down and switch his attention to me. I told passenger X that he had to situation down and comply with our instructions or else I would have to call the captain. He stated (now yelling at me) that he didn't care who I called -- that nobody, not even the captain, was going to stop him! He kept on reiterating that he belonged to the church and his mission was to rid the world of all homosexuals. He then headed toward the galley at the aft of the plane. Passenger X's attention was still focused on me, as he paced back and forth in the aisle yelling the same verbal assaults at me. I yelled at flight attendant #2 to call the captain immediately and inform him of the situation! Flight attendant #3 and I were at our last row of passenger. I told flight attendant #3 to just ignore him so we could quickly finish our service and remove the beverage cart from the aisle. I ran towards the front of the plane to get our purser (flight attendant #1). He was already headed towards the back. Accompanying him was our first officer and passenger Y, who idented himself as being with security in santo domingo. Passenger Y offered his assistance as needed. First officer talked to passenger X, who by now had returned to his seat. Passenger was again raising his voice, and beginning to yell at our first officer. We all decided there was no use in trying to reason with passenger X. I felt we would just avoid any further interaction with passenger X. During the whole incident with passenger X, he did not appear to be intoxicated. There was absolutely no alcohol served to passenger X during the flight. At no time was his speech ever slurred. He made his verbal assaults very direct and very clear. Passenger X's actions seemed to be of a mentally unstable person. The captain called for dominican officials to meet the flight.

Title: FLT ATTENDANT RPT REGARDING AN A300 FLT ON WHICH A PAX BECAME VERY UNRULY, ACCOSTED A FLT ATTENDANT WITH INAPPROPRIATE CONTACT AND VERBAL ABUSE. AUTHS MET THE ACFT AND ESCORTED HIM OFF.
Narrative: ON OCT/XA/98 ON FLT GOING FROM MIAMI TO SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, I WAS SERVING DRINKS FROM THE AFT END OF A BEVERAGE CART ON THE R-HAND SIDE OF AN AIRBUS 300. THE BEVERAGE CART THAT FLT ATTENDANT #4 AND I WERE WORKING FROM WAS AT THE BEGINNING OF ZONE C WHEN PAX X ATTEMPTED TO PASS BY ME AND PROCEED UP THE AISLE. MR X HAD BEEN ROAMING AROUND THE PLANE (BOTH CABINS) MOST OF THE FLT, HOWEVER, WITH BOTH BEVERAGE CARTS NOW IN THE AISLE, HE WAS RESTR TO THE AFT OF THE ACFT. I HAD HEARD THE OTHER FLT ATTENDANTS WHO HAD HAD CONTACT WITH MR X SAY THAT HE HAD BEEN BEHAVING STRANGELY, AND THAT THE PURSER HAD EVEN HAD WORDS WITH HIM EARLIER IN THE FLT. THEREFORE, WHEN MR X WANTED TO PASS BY ME IN THE AISLE, I DECIDED TO GIVE HIM PLENTY OF SPACE. WITH MY BACK FACING THE PAX, I LEANED FORWARD INTO THE AISLE XX PAX SEAT, PRACTICALLY HUGGING IT, SO AS TO GIVE THIS TALL, LARGE-BONED MAN AS MUCH SPACE AS POSSIBLE TO PROCEED BY ME. I FELT THAT MR X HAD PLACED HIS HANDS UNDER MY ARMS AND ON THE SIDES OF MY BREASTS WHEREUPON HE SQUEEZED. AS AN IMMEDIATE REACTION TO BEING GRABBED IN THIS PLACE, I SLAMMED MY ARMS DOWN TO MY SIDE, THEREBY CATCHING THE PAX'S FINGERTIPS AS HE PULLED HIS HANDS BACK TO HIMSELF. I WAS VERY ANGRY AT BEING TOUCHED IN THIS AREA, SO I QUICKLY TURNED AROUND AND CAST A DIRTY LOOK AT THE PAX. I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING AS I DID NOT WANT TO MAKE A SCENE OR CAUSE ANY KIND OF CONFRONTATION THAT WOULD BE HARMFUL TO MYSELF OR THE PAX. I THEN TOOK THE WATER PITCHER OFF OF THE BEVERAGE CART AND HURRIED TO THE AFT GALLEY TO FILL IT UP AND REGAIN MY COMPOSURE. I DID NOT REALIZE IT AT FIRST, BUT MR X HAD FOLLOWED ME TO THE AFT GALLEY. AS I RELAYED MY BAD EXPERIENCE TO FLT ATTENDANTS #2 AND #3, I NOTICED THAT MR X STOOD AT THE EDGE OF THE GALLEY STARING IN AT ME. I DID NOT GIVE HIM EYE CONTACT AS I FEARED REPRISAL FROM SOMEONE WHO I BELIEVED TO BE POTENTIALLY VOLATILE. MR X JUST STOOD GLARING AT ME WHEN FLT ATTENDANT #4 FINALLY ASKED HIM TO TAKE HIS SEAT. EVENTUALLY, MR XLEFT THE GALLEY AREA, PRESUMABLY TO RETURN TO SEAT YY WHERE HE HAD BEEN SEATED. I WAS STILL DISTURBED BY THE INAPPROPRIATE PHYSICAL CONTACT I HAD RECEIVED, BUT KNEW THAT MY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY WAS TO MY PAX, SO I RE-ENTERED THE AISLE TO CONTINUE THE SVC. FLT ATTENDANT #4 ASKED ME IF I SAW THE WAY THAT MR X LOOKED AT ME, AND I TOLD HER THAT I WOULD TELL HER LATER WHAT HAD TRANSPIRED. I WAS SHAKEN BY THE INCIDENT, AND HAD DIFFICULTIES CONCENTRATING ON MY SVC, EVEN REMEMBERING SIMPLE DRINK REQUESTS. I RETURNED AGAIN TO THE AFT GALLEY TO RETRIEVE ADDITIONAL CANS OF SODA. WHILE DEEP IN THE AIRBUS GALLEY (WHICH IS APPROX 10 FT DEEP AND QUITE NOISY DUE TO CHILLER SYS AND ENG NOISE) I HEARD A DEEP MALE VOICE YELLING. I PEEKED INTO THE CABIN AND SAW MR X'S 6 FT 1 INCH FRAME TWRING OVER FLT ATTENDANT #3. HIS TWISTED, ANGERED FACE WAS INCHES FROM FLT ATTENDANT #3 AS HE WAGGED HIS FINGER AND YELLED. I COULD NOT MAKE OUT THE WORDS HE SPOKE AS HIS SPEECH WAS A BIT GARBLED, BUT I DID HEAR 'JESUS CHRIST' REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES. I WATCHED THE ANTICS FOR A MOMENT BEFORE DETERMINING THAT THE SAFETY OF FLT ATTENDANT #3 AND SURROUNDING PAX WAS AT RISK, THEN I IMMEDIATELY PHONED THE COCKPIT FROM THE AFT R INTERPHONE. I TRIED TO RELAY THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS PAX'S ACTIONS, MENTIONING THAT I HAD BEEN INAPPROPRIATELY GRABBED, AND THAT I HONESTLY THOUGHT FLT ATTENDANT #3 WOULD BE STRUCK. WHEN MRXRETURNED TO HIS SEAT, I HAD COMPLETED MY PHONE CONVERSATION WITH THE CAPT AND RESUMED THE SVC. SHORTLY THEREAFTER FO WALKED TO THE BACK OF THE CABIN ACCOMPANIED BY ANOTHER MAN WHOSE IDENTITY I DID NOT KNOW. AS FO SPOKE TO MR X, FLT ATTENDANT #4 AND I CONTINUED WITH THE BEVERAGE SVC, TRYING TO MAINTAIN NORMALCY. THE OTHER PAX IN QUESTION ENDED UP BEING MR Y, A SECURITY ATTACHE. HE HAD HEARD THE COMMOTION AND OFFERED HIS SVCS. AFTER WE LANDED, A PA ANNOUNCEMENT WAS MADE FOR ALL PAX TO REMAIN SEATED AS SOME DOMINICAN SECURITY OFFICIALS WOULD BE BOARDING THE FLT. LED BY MR Y, SEVERAL SECURITY OFFICIALS MADE THEIR WAY BACK TO MR X'S SEAT. THEY TOLD HIM TO GET UP AND GATHER HIS BELONGINGS AND THEN ACCOMPANIED HIM UP THE AISLE. MR X WAS VERY CALM INITIALLY, JUST SWAYING TO THE MUSIC FROM HIS WALKMAN, BUT THEN HE BEGAN AGAIN YELLING TO A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE OF PAX THAT HE WAS 'PUT ON EARTH BY JESUS CHRIST TO DESTROY ALL HOMOSEXUALS....' PAX CLAPPED AND CATCALLED AS MR X WAS ESCORTED OFF THE FLT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 415933: FLT ATTENDANT #3 AND I (FLT ATTENDANT #7) WERE FINISHING OUR MEAL SVC IN THE LAST FEW ROWS OF THE MAIN CABIN. I WAS ATTENDING PAX WITH BEVERAGE REQUESTS WHEN I SEE PAX X START TO GET LOUD WITH MY PARTNER, FLT ATTENDANT #3. I HEARD HER SAY TO 'PLEASE CALM DOWN' BUT IT ONLY AGITATED HIM MORE. HE RAISED HIS VOICE MORE AND MORE TILL HE WAS AT A YELLING STAGE. HIS VERBAL ASSAULTS AT FLT ATTENDANT #3 STARTED WITH 'SHE WAS A HOMOSEXUAL,' AND HE DID NOT WANT HER TO SERVE HIM. SHE TRIED TO KEEP ORDER, AND TOLD HIM MANY TIMES TO BE QUIET AND TO CALM DOWN. HE THEN GOT OUT OF HIS SEAT AND WAS POINTING AND YELLING AT FLT ATTENDANT #3 THAT 'SHE WAS A DEMONIC HOMOSEXUAL.' HE STATED THAT 'HE BELONGED TO THE CHURCH OF THE RIGHTEOUS AND HIS JOB ON EARTH WAS TO RID THE WORLD OF ALL HOMOSEXUALS.' HE WAS INCHES FROM FLT ATTENDANT #2, TWRING OVER HER AND STILL POINTING AND YELLING AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS. I FEARED FOR HER SAFETY AS WELL AS THE SAFETY OF THE PAX AROUND HIM. I (FLT ATTENDANT #7) THEN INTERVENED TO SEE IF I COULD CALM HIM DOWN AND SWITCH HIS ATTN TO ME. I TOLD PAX X THAT HE HAD TO SIT DOWN AND COMPLY WITH OUR INSTRUCTIONS OR ELSE I WOULD HAVE TO CALL THE CAPT. HE STATED (NOW YELLING AT ME) THAT HE DIDN'T CARE WHO I CALLED -- THAT NOBODY, NOT EVEN THE CAPT, WAS GOING TO STOP HIM! HE KEPT ON REITERATING THAT HE BELONGED TO THE CHURCH AND HIS MISSION WAS TO RID THE WORLD OF ALL HOMOSEXUALS. HE THEN HEADED TOWARD THE GALLEY AT THE AFT OF THE PLANE. PAX X'S ATTN WAS STILL FOCUSED ON ME, AS HE PACED BACK AND FORTH IN THE AISLE YELLING THE SAME VERBAL ASSAULTS AT ME. I YELLED AT FLT ATTENDANT #2 TO CALL THE CAPT IMMEDIATELY AND INFORM HIM OF THE SIT! FLT ATTENDANT #3 AND I WERE AT OUR LAST ROW OF PAX. I TOLD FLT ATTENDANT #3 TO JUST IGNORE HIM SO WE COULD QUICKLY FINISH OUR SVC AND REMOVE THE BEVERAGE CART FROM THE AISLE. I RAN TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE PLANE TO GET OUR PURSER (FLT ATTENDANT #1). HE WAS ALREADY HEADED TOWARDS THE BACK. ACCOMPANYING HIM WAS OUR FO AND PAX Y, WHO IDENTED HIMSELF AS BEING WITH SECURITY IN SANTO DOMINGO. PAX Y OFFERED HIS ASSISTANCE AS NEEDED. FO TALKED TO PAX X, WHO BY NOW HAD RETURNED TO HIS SEAT. PAX WAS AGAIN RAISING HIS VOICE, AND BEGINNING TO YELL AT OUR FO. WE ALL DECIDED THERE WAS NO USE IN TRYING TO REASON WITH PAX X. I FELT WE WOULD JUST AVOID ANY FURTHER INTERACTION WITH PAX X. DURING THE WHOLE INCIDENT WITH PAX X, HE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE INTOXICATED. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL SERVED TO PAX X DURING THE FLT. AT NO TIME WAS HIS SPEECH EVER SLURRED. HE MADE HIS VERBAL ASSAULTS VERY DIRECT AND VERY CLR. PAX X'S ACTIONS SEEMED TO BE OF A MENTALLY UNSTABLE PERSON. THE CAPT CALLED FOR DOMINICAN OFFICIALS TO MEET THE FLT.
