Narrative:

I was responsible for overwing exit row briefings on this flight. Towards the end of boarding a family of 3 showed up in the exit row. They spoke little english and one of the passengers was a child. Took several minutes for customer service to get them reseated. Father was only one left in exit row. At this point the door was closed. I specifically told purser [that] exits were not briefed. After door closed I asked father if he was qualified and willing to help. He said no. I had to reseat him and brief the new person after the door was closed.
