Narrative:
After takeoff, when the landing gear was retracted with the handle up, the amber gear light and the amber doors light were on with appropriate EICAS messages. Recycled landing gear with same result. Got vectors for an ILS to runway 9R. Landed overweight at 355000 pounds. Touchdown was normal. Sink rate was 100-200 FPM.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF, WHEN THE LNDG GEAR WAS RETRACTED WITH THE HANDLE UP, THE AMBER GEAR LIGHT AND THE AMBER DOORS LIGHT WERE ON WITH APPROPRIATE EICAS MESSAGES.
