Narrative:
Center called and questioned position on airway. Wrong radial was intercepted because of misreading map. I was out of the loop obtaining isp ATIS. Captain made correction back to correct radial and rejoined airway. Supplemental information from acn 336512: I intercepted the swl 059 degree radial instead of the swl 034 degree radial. I was mistakenly looking at the outbound radial of the next VOR on our route (sea isle -- sie 114.8). The first officer was out of the loop, getting the isp ATIS. I feel fatigue from a long day contributed to my error. Center caught the deviation and we immediately corrected over to the 034 degree radial.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ON J121 CAPT MISTOOK THE OUTBOUND RADIAL BECAUSE OF JUMPING AHEAD TO THE NEXT VOR OUTBOUND. CTLR INTERVENED AND FLC RETURNED ACFT TO CORRECT COURSE. FO OUT OF THE LOOP GETTING ATIS.
Narrative: CTR CALLED AND QUESTIONED POS ON AIRWAY. WRONG RADIAL WAS INTERCEPTED BECAUSE OF MISREADING MAP. I WAS OUT OF THE LOOP OBTAINING ISP ATIS. CAPT MADE CORRECTION BACK TO CORRECT RADIAL AND REJOINED AIRWAY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 336512: I INTERCEPTED THE SWL 059 DEG RADIAL INSTEAD OF THE SWL 034 DEG RADIAL. I WAS MISTAKENLY LOOKING AT THE OUTBOUND RADIAL OF THE NEXT VOR ON OUR RTE (SEA ISLE -- SIE 114.8). THE FO WAS OUT OF THE LOOP, GETTING THE ISP ATIS. I FEEL FATIGUE FROM A LONG DAY CONTRIBUTED TO MY ERROR. CTR CAUGHT THE DEV AND WE IMMEDIATELY CORRECTED OVER TO THE 034 DEG RADIAL.
